ภาพรวมและพฤติกรรมการใช้ Twitter ของประเทศมาเลเซีย ปี2014

Twitter เป็นอีกหนึ่ง social media สุดฮอต ที่มียอดผู้ใช้สูงขึ้นเรื่อยๆทั้งในประเทศไทยและต่างประเทศ รวมถึงนายกของมาเลเซีย นายนาจิบ ราซะก์ ก็ได้ใช้ Twitter เป็นช่องทางการสื่อสารกับประชาชนชาวมาเลเซียเหมือนกัน วันนี้ ทีมงาน Zocial Inc. Malaysia ได้นำพฤติกรรมภาพรวมของผู้ใช้ Twitter ในประเทศมาเลเซียในปี 2014 มาให้ดูในรูปแบบ infographic (แนบอยู่ด้านล่าง) โดยมีเนื้อหาที่น่าสนใจดังนี้

  • มีผู้ใช้ Twitter ประมาณ 3.5 ล้าน คนในประเทศมาเลเซีย และมียอดโพสรวมกันทั้งหมดประมาณ 162.4 ล้านข้อความ (กุมภาพันธ์ 2014)

Thai people’s behaviour after Instagram Video Launched

After the launch of Instagram video feature last month (June 2013), Zocial Inc., social media analytics company revealed a  report on Thai people’s behaviour to react to this new service. Zocial Inc found that

  • Average of all uploaded data (Photo and Video) to Instagram of Thai people is 161,635 daily
  • On first 3 days, Thai people uploaded more than 11,000 video clips (8.28% from total uploaded file)
  • The number of uploaded video was highest, 12,216 clips on the 2nd day after the launch
  • After the first 3 days of the launch, the number of video uploaded daily dropped to the average of 7,800 clips/day
  • The percentage of  the uploaded video from Thai people is 5.77%

It is assumed that in the beginning, some people still have not updated the new version of Instagram to support the new video function. Nevertheless, it might take sometime until the number of Thai people’s engagement in this new video function rises.

ASEAN Social Network Ranking Infographic


The social network has become a new channel of marketing in the modern world which reaches out to billions of people worldwide. With the likes of Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, and Instagram, many corporations, companies, and brands are turning to social network as a channel to construct a customer base. Also, the social network acts as a channel to connect to customers more personally which in turn, helps to get a more profound understanding of the customer. This starts a trend for businesses to put more concern with the quantity of “base members” in their social network system such as the amount of likes on a fanpage, followers, subscribers and other strategies to increase their members. But the question that lurks in the minds of these businesses is “how much do the numbers we see here really amount for?”

 

The Zocial Inc team is operating a ranking system called the “ASEAN Social Network Ranking” in the website www.ZocialRank.com/brandranking. It is an accumulation of members within the social network of brands in ASEAN which includes Facebook Likes, Twitter followers, Youtube subscribers and Instagram followers. They are then ranked between each ASEAN country which includes Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, and Brunei. The rankings can also be specifically ranked within the ASEAN countries by members for each business. These rankings will depict the businesses “reach” to the people in the social networks, which can also be used to evaluate the marketing and social network communication efficiency of a business.

 

The “ASEAN Social Network Ranking” will turn the heads of ASEAN businesses to the importance of social network as a channel for communication and marketing. The business will also be able to compare the results of their strategies by means of the social network to that of their competitors in the same country or even other countries. The rankings of social network are as follows:

 

From concluding more 50 brands and corporations with the most members in social networks, it is found that:

  • Surfer Girl Indonesia has the most members in the social network in the ASEAN community which amounts to 2,470,743 points
  • Thailand has the most ranked brands (86 brands)
  • AXE is the most ranked brand with a total of 3,292,089 points in five countries including Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Malaysia

Thais and Instagram (the latest photo sharing service in the social media world)

The adoption of Instagram in Thailand has taken off and looks to keep climbing with over a hundred thousand users. This social media habit that extended from the highly popular adoption of Facebook has recently seen over 11 million photos uploaded in Thailand. Thailand’s top movie star, Ploy Cherman, has the most Instagram followers.

Today, the highly popular Instagram has become a must have application for all smartphones. It’s ability to instantly share photos with friends and followers whenever and wherever, plus allow LIKES and COMMENTS from viewers have been widely adopted, especially by Thai teens and celebrities. Celebrities and movie stars post photos of their lifestyle for their fans and followers to enjoy creating the latest trend. This new social network service has only been around for less than two years and was recently acquired by Facebook for over 3 billion dollars.

Social media monitoring web site, Zocialrank.com, recently measured this latest trend and on May 8, 2012 revealed that Thai Instagramers have reached 154,591 users. Over 11 million photos have been posted averaging about 100 photos per user with the top uploader uploading 7,000 photos. Ploy Cherman (@chermarn)  tops Thailand’s Instagram in followers with over 300,000 followers. Following closely in second is another of Thailand’s top actress Aum Patchara (@aum_patchrapa) and in third Boy Pakorn (@boy_pakorn), another popular actor.
Interestly, 9pm seems to be the popular time for sharing Instagrams and the most popular filter used is the “X-Pro II”, however, photos with the “Valencia” filter received the most LIKES. Filter is a funciton in the Instagram application that allows users to create effects on photos before posting them to share.
